About Us
We are a 501 (c)(3) foundation dedicated to improving black children’s early literacy and self-efficacy by increasing their access to children’s books that reflect, affirm, and celebrate their lives while also providing parents/guardians with the skills and resources to support their child’s literacy development.
~Representation Really Matters~
Children should see themselves in books, both fiction and non-fiction. They should be able to see characters and settings, experience literature and real events, and hear dialogue that represents them.
They should be able to escape into books and turn to them to figure out life and how to navigate it.

Our Programs

We partner with preschools and organizations in underserved communities to provide children’s books to the children they serve.

We partner with elementary schools and organizations in underserved communities to provide children’s books to students in Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd-grade.

We provide parents/guardians with the skills and resources to support their child’s literacy development.
